Rhode Island FC, A Club for All Rhode Island, is independently owned and operated, and is the only homegrown men's professional team in the state. It is led by co-founders Brett Johnson and former MLS and USMNT player Michael Parkhurst, a Rhode Island native. The club began play in March 2024 in its temporary venue, Beirne Stadium on the campus of Bryant University, while its permanent home stadium is completed for the 2025 season. The Digital Media Director will be a key member of the Club's marketing team, leading all digital strategy, content development and digital fan/community engagement activities for the club, including but not limited to the club's social media channels, website, texting platform, mobile application, e-commerce platform, e-mail communication and paid media campaigns.

We are looking for a passionate, creative go-getter who will take our club's digital/social presence to the next level of with compelling, innovative and captivating content that will position RIFC as a leader in fan engagement, and help drive ticketing, sponsorship and merchandising revenues.


  • Digital Media Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital media strategy aligned with the team's marketing and brand objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage digital media professionals including Digital Media Manager, freelance photographers/videographers/content creators and interns.Collaborate cross-functionally with teams of internal and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class digital content.
  • Content Direction and Creation: Manage a dynamic content calendar across digital and social channels that maximizes both growth and engagement.Direct the creation of compelling multimedia content (videos, graphics, photos, articles) for the team's social media channel, email, texting platform, website, app and other digital media channels.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee the management and growth of all social media accounts (Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIN, TikTok, YouTube etc.), ensuring content is engaging, on-brand, and optimized for each platform.
  • Website Oversight: Manage and update the team's official website with relevant news, player profiles, match schedules, and fan engagement features.
  • Digital Advertising: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute digital advertising campaigns to drive ticket sales, sponsorship revenue, merchandise purchases, and overall fan engagement.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to monitor digital media performance, track key metrics, and provide regular reports with actionable insights for optimization.Identify, interpret and implement digital/social media trends and best practices for RIFC's benefit.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all digital platforms, maintaining high standards of quality and creativity.
  • Matchday and Event Coverage: Provide live coverage and post-event updates for RIFC matches and events via digital platforms.
This position requires a self-motivated, flexible, organized and detail-oriented go-getter with a deep knowledge of crafting and implementing digital media strategies and contentYou will at times be expected to work during non-conventional business hours including evenings and weekends.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in digital media management, preferably in sports or entertainment industry.
  • Ability to write/produce original, creative content on a consistent basis.Proficiency in content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Passion for and understanding of soccer; professional sports experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing digital and social media analytics tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including games, nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
