Chef-Indian Cuisine Per Diem The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking a
Chef-Indian Cuisine to join its team of professionals in Food Services. A vital and important part of the team you will provide food and excellent nutritional care to our residents living on our Indian cultural unit.
Parker's Indian Cultural Unit is the first of its kind serving East and West Indian older adults living in Nassau/Queens. This dedicated Indian Cultural Unit provides specialized, culturally relevant care for Indian patients including activities, entertainment, food and staff fluent in Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi and Punjabi, dedicated to these patients and their needs.
Working collaboratively with our clinical dietary, food service, and the rest of the interdisciplinary care team at Parker Jewish Institute and reporting to the Director of Food Services, the Chef-Indian Cuisine maintains direct supervision of all operations related to our Indian cuisine operations, including but not limited to, ordering all food items, tracking and ensuring adequate inventory levels, food production and preparation. The Chef-Indian Cuisine is responsible for cooking and preparing and overseeing all aspects relating to Indian cuisine at the Parker Jewish Institute. Attend Food Committee meetings for Parker Jewish Institute's Indian Unit.

Position Requirements: - Knowledgeable in cooking and preparing authentic Indian cuisine
- Prior experience working in a kitchen in food production/preparation
- Prior experience in food ordering and inventory
- NYS ServSafe Certification strongly preferred
- Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19
